Published as the Act directs and sold at the author's house in Dorset Court. 1779 and 1789, London, 1779. Condition: Very Good. Occasional mild browning otherwise clean Hand colored copper engravings with approximately 10 figures per plate detailing the taxonomy of the plants. The two volumes were issued 10 years apart with slightly different titles, but are the same work and comprise the first edition in English. Mueller was a German who moved to London and anglicized his name; he was an important botanical illustrator of the time; Linnaeus himself praised his work very highly. Full tree calf rebacked in brown morocco, gilt, restored corners, new endpapers. First edition in English (the true first was in Latin).
